About the Journal
The International Journal of Religion, Environment, and Nature Discourse (JREND) is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary scholarly journal published by JDONS. The journal is dedicated to advancing critical research at the intersection of religion, ecology, environmental humanities, and nature discourse. It provides an international platform for examining how religious traditions, spiritual worldviews, ethical systems, cultural narratives, and ecological knowledge shape human relationships with the natural world.
JREND recognizes that contemporary environmental challenges—including climate change, biodiversity loss, environmental injustice, resource depletion, and ecological degradation—cannot be fully understood through scientific inquiry alone. Religious beliefs, sacred texts, indigenous knowledge systems, ritual practices, philosophical traditions, and cultural heritage profoundly influence environmental values, conservation practices, and public engagement with nature. The journal therefore promotes interdisciplinary dialogue that integrates insights from religious studies, environmental studies, anthropology, philosophy, sociology, history, geography, political ecology, law, and the environmental sciences.

Particular emphasis is placed on research that foregrounds Indigenous perspectives, Global South experiences, decolonial approaches, and diverse knowledge traditions while fostering meaningful engagement across academic disciplines and cultural contexts.
